Vicki Kiesel, CEO of Genetic Experts, attended the Community Cancer Health & Wellbeing Event Thursday 13th September 2026

Vicki Kiesel, CEO of Genetic Experts, was delighted to attend the Community Cancer Health & Wellbeing Event 2026, to represent the LNR NHS Genomic Service. The event brought together people living with and beyond cancer, their families and carers, healthcare professionals, charities and support services.

Approximately 350 people attended the event, making it the largest gathering of its kind organised by the team to date. Visitors were able to speak directly with a wide range of organisations, discover useful services, attend talks and interactive sessions, and access practical health and wellbeing information in one welcoming place.

Vicki hosted a stall alongside her colleague, where they spoke with multiple visitors and provided personalised advice about cancer risk assessment and genetic testing. They helped people consider whether their personal or family history might indicate an inherited cancer risk, explained the potential role of genetic testing, and signposted appropriate next steps.

Community, connection and support

The event created an important space for people affected by cancer to ask questions, explore support they may not previously have known about, try something new or simply have a friendly conversation. Its emphasis on community and connection helped visitors feel informed, supported and less alone.

Attendee feedback highlighted the welcoming atmosphere and the breadth of support available. Visitors described the event as “friendly and easy to talk to”, praised the “wide variety of services”, and valued its supportive, non-judgemental approach.

Why events like this matter

For Vicki, the day was a valuable opportunity to meet members of the local community and other organisations committed to improving care and support for people affected by cancer. Events like this make trusted information easier to find and help people understand the range of support available to them and their families.

Genetic Experts is proud to support initiatives that empower people to make informed decisions about their health. Clear, compassionate conversations about inherited cancer risk and genetic testing can help individuals and families better understand their options and access appropriate care.

We would like to thank the organisers, speakers, exhibitors, volunteers and support teams whose time and dedication made the event possible. Congratulations on creating such a successful and inclusive day for the cancer community—and on achieving a record attendance.
