About Genetic Experts

Since 2021, Genetic Experts has been providing trusted access to advanced genetic testing, specialist genetic counselling and personalised clinical guidance.

Our Story

After years working in NHS clinical genetics, we founded Genetic Experts to give patients more time, clearer explanations and faster access to specialist care without compromising clinical standards. We wanted to make expert genetic counselling accessible to everyone who needs it, helping people make informed decisions with confidence.

Our Laboratory Partners

We work with a number of trusted specialist laboratories to arrange genetic testing for our patients. All of the laboratories we use are accredited to ISO 15189, an international standard for medical laboratories. This means they have been independently assessed for the quality and reliability of their services, including how they manage samples, carry out testing, report results and maintain high standards of safety and accuracy.

Using accredited laboratories helps us provide patients and healthcare professionals with confidence that genetic test results are produced by laboratories that meet recognised standards for quality and competence.

We choose the most appropriate laboratory depending on the type of genetic test needed. Different laboratories have particular areas of strength, so this helps ensure each test is sent to a laboratory with relevant expertise.

  • Nonacus Genetics has strong expertise in oncology and cancer genomics, so this is where we send the majority of cancer-related genetic tests.
  • Blueprint Genetics has an excellent reputation in rare disease testing, and we use Blueprint for many general genetic testing panels.
  • PreventionGenetics has expertise in triplet repeat disorders, such as C9orf72-related amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and Huntington's disease.
  • Fulgent Genetics offers an excellent range of preconception carrier screening tests.
  • GenSeq may be used where its testing options are most appropriate for an individual patient's needs.

Our partner laboratories provide specialist clinical reports. These reports are then reviewed by our expert team, who explain what the results mean and provide personalised advice based on each person's situation.
