On the 22nd November 2019 Vicki Kiesel was pleased to present to the Genetic Counsellor Training Panel at Northwick Park Hospital. As part of her presentation, Vicki explored the dynamics of working privately as a genetic counsellor in the UK.
From the 27th September to 1st October 2019, Vicki Kiesel presented her poster on ‘The value of genetic counselling in breast cancer genetic testing’ at the European Society for Medical Oncology in Barcelona. Vicki’s work explored the importance of genetic counselling and the additional value it adds to the genetic counselling process.
July 2019 saw the publication of an article discussing the histological presentation of Lynch syndrome versus environmental bowel cancer. This article was published in Human Pathology and illustrated the complexities in diagnosing inherited cancer. The article can be read here.
On the 4th February 2019 Vicki Kiesel had the pleasure of being a guest on Lincolnshire FM’s health radio show. Along with women who are known to have BRCA pathogenic variants Vicki explored the psychosocial aspects surrounding genetic testing and the implications.
